This series includes five items. The first two are curriculum vitae dated June 1, 1961 and May 1, 1968. The next is a letter from Dr. Pickering to J. Wayne Stark of Texas A&M University dated March 10, 1972 that includes a summary of Frank Malina's accomplishments. The final two are articles by Frank Malina: "On the GALCIT rocket research project, 1936-1938" Smithsonian Annals of Flight number 10, 1974, 113-127 and "Electric light as a medium in the visual fine arts: a memoir" Leonardo, Vol. 8, 1975 109-119. The final article is interesting because it includes examples of Malina's artwork.

Frank Malina (1912-1981) was an American aeronautical engineer and kinetic artist. Born in Brenham, Texas to parents of Czechoslovakian extraction (both musicians), Malina was for many years a scientist and directed American rocket research and UNESCO projects.
